Resolutions and Reflections
A new year brings with it the promise of a fresh start, a chance to reinvent ourselves and commit to new resolutions. It's that time when we make vows to ourselves, hoping we'll stick with them this time. As I reflect on the year ahead, I keep asking myself what I'm truly striving for. The answer always circles back to one dream: becoming an event painter. It may sound unconventional to some, but for me, it’s a way to use my portraits to celebrate people, their love, and the fleeting moments that often pass by unnoticed.
So, how do I plan to turn this dream into reality over the next year? My goal is simple: network and build connections, refine my craft, and create a portfolio that speaks to potential clients. But achieving this involves much more than just setting intentions. It means stepping outside of my comfort zone, actively seeking opportunities to connect with event planners, venues, and individuals who share my passion for capturing moments through art.
Equally important is dedicating myself to honing my skills. I need to practice continuously, experimenting with different styles and techniques to refine my work and find my unique voice as an event painter. This may mean stepping into new environments and pushing myself to adapt to the challenges of painting live events. It’s about telling a story through my art and showing potential clients that I’m capable of capturing the essence of their special moments.
But that’s for tomorrow. Today, I’m reflecting on the portraits I’ve created over the past year and the stories they hold—moments frozen in time that I’m proud to have captured.
